I am very nostalgic about my homeland of Prince Edward Island. For the longest time I resented the place I was born for being too small and uneventful but then I realized that there are so many things to be thankful for, growing up on this island. So feeling nostalgic, I wanted to express my love for PEI with some logotypes representing my favourite memories this island has brought into my life!
A variety of different designs for different aspects that PEI brings, from the fishing industry, and local spots, to our love of potatoes and lobster. Even a few local catchphrases and slang made the cut.
It's true that a mountain on PEI is probably considered a big hill anywhere else. Nonetheless our black diamond runs will do their best to nic yah off your feet!
We are definitely famous for our seafood, and speaking as an inside man, we got some old fashioned burly fishermen who are dedicated to their daily battle against the waves. Being old fashioned, I felt I wanted to create a design that would capture a sort of power with age and nostalgia.
I love my grandfather. He is a very skilled guitarist, his music is so traditional and local to this island. PEI brings so many people together for their love of old fashioned music, with our ceilidh's, local bands, fiddles, singers, treats to the eardrums. Picture your old gramps sit-in on his chair, playing a tune while also talking about the new 50 dollar guitar pics he just bought. Those are the memories I hold close to PEI's music.
